We hope you can be with us on October 13, 2022, at The Madelyn Venue & Guesthouse in Collinsville. You’ll enjoy the elegant atmosphere of the 1860’s era barn (deconstructed in Ohio and moved to Collinsville by Amish builders), delicious food catered by Feast on This! Catering, a live and silent auction, and musical entertainment provided by The Self Family Band; a uniquely talented musical family from the Abilene area.
The 42 Bed Bash started during the Pandemic of 2020 when a group of friends decided they wanted to hold a concert to raise money for Texoma Family Shelter. The name originates from the 42 beds available at the shelter at that time. For 2022, the Friends Committee and the Board of Directors have “reimagined” the 42 Bed Bash with an updated venue and format, in hopes that this annual event will not only provide sustainable support for shelter operations but help us extend our outreach into the community.
Texoma Family Shelter (TFS) is the only 24-hour living facility in the Texoma region providing multiple survival services to both families and individuals experiencing homelessness. We don't just provide a roof over their heads - we also give them a hand up to a new life. We provide an extended stay program with access to individualized case management, referrals to community services, housing and career services, and money management and life skills training. Our goal is to transition at-risk individuals to become self-sufficient and to keep families intact to avoid the negative impact of homelessness on children and parents. All services are provided at no cost to our residents. Hoping to prevent further homelessness, TFS also assists the needy in our community who are not residents at the shelter.
